INSPIRE ME!

okay so another person iv yet came back to looking at.. Jennifer Collier the idea of trapping.. which i keep coming back to! trapping is something im going ahead with on this project.. and speaking of trapping another person iv come across.. Fiona wilson textile artist and designer, someone i happerly took a card from last year a new designers.. the front of her card, is teabags.. trapped! Looking at her blog as well she also loves the idea of collecting old books etcetc, yet again something that really interest me! This is a picture of her final piece... its beautiful! all the colours and the idea of miss matched grids.. layers! This piece really does remind me more of a wall hanging or art decoration peice.. which is great, as its more textured... more inspiration for me!

Banksy!

Banksy, whether you love him or you hate him, everyone knows of Banksy! i think his work is great.. hes free traveling around putting his art on walls, making his point! i personally dont believe its graffiti, its art! But his stencil style is something i could really work with in this project, as hes doing his art work in a urban environment anyway, in a urban kind of matter... with a spray paint! it fits the bill perfectly!

Oscar Andersson

Oscar Anderson designed this sofa chair with claiming ropes and i think its beautiful! i really like the idea its been woven.. its very hands on and a very tradional method.. but this is so contemporary and unique! It reminds me of invervention art again somethign thats old having a twist put on it! i think the idea of trapping again comes in to play... trapping bits of metal between the ropes, still something that inspires me!

Invervention Art

Art intervention has really inspired me in this project with the idea of taking something already existing and re creating it in a new, fun and inspired way! i love the building picture before its about to get knocked down, i love the way its forming colourfull grids.. and yet it being a room the idea of trapping something! i think that it could be a idea to take forward! its so inspiring that someone can still see the beauty in something old and forgotten when others cant!

She will always Inspire me....

SABRINA WARD HARRISON! Someone i will always come back too.. her work amazes me! the way she colleges, writes, put bits of old photos and found objects in there, her thoughts, her feelings.. her work is her personal diary! So rather then just sitting back and admiring her work, i decided it wanted to do something similiar on the idea of keeping my sketchbook as a diary, taking photos of things i like.. making links! i think id enjoy this so much.... even if most of my sketchbook ends up black and white like the last few, its okay, its the idea behind it i like!

My own Brief

So for this project we are making our own brief. i had a idea of what i wanted to do anyways... as iv found through out these last few project flat patterns drive me mad, even if its a flat print.. it has to look like some sort of texture is going on. so i decided i wanted to base it on textiles.. but not just textiles, textiles with a bit of a contemporary twist of urban life style.. litter, text, metallics. I think this is something that will really grab my interest and something il just want to keep going on with.. but only being a 4 week project, i better get cracking!

Paper & Cloth

We have currently been set a live brief from Paper & Cloth to design for them. There are four areas we can pick from Womens fashion, Childrens fashion, Stationary or interiors. I have choosen Interiors as its were my interests lies. Paper and Cloth are a surface design studio team whos work has a strong Illustration team running through out. There are currently 7 designers working for Paper & Cloth. Each designer get to put there name on their designs so they can be recognised for their own work, which means that if anyone wanted to commission them for work, then they would know who. Paper & Cloth's work is so fun and playful.. i think they will be great to design for!
