When you first walk in to the Timorous Beasties exhibition its very simple and sophisticated but yet its still a very poweful and striking layout. The work was based on interiors and the layout reflected that really well. The exhibition shown chairs, lamps, lamp shades and also had one mattress in the middle of the room they had designed. The colours were muted and at first glance, even the lamps appeared subtle from the outside which gave it a very contemporary feel.
I think the actual layout of the room impressed me more then their work as looking at their work closely none of their designs were well executed. I think that their exhibition though reflected the gallery well as the building was very contemporary, minimalistic with big glass front windows, silver furniture and white walls, it was well presented!
One thing that impressed me most about the Timerous Beasties exhibition is that in the corner of the room there were books on insects, creatures and anythign that had influenced them and their work, which i think was nice to see, as normally you never get to see what inspires designers unless you do research but it was nice to see that and it gave the impression that they were very confident about their work and its style!
