Design Report - Kendals

House of Fraser
PO Box 60

Kendals is a department offering interior for wallpapers, materials and furnishings. It has been in the line now for 170 years and is now located in House of Fraser as they took over in 2005, Alhough it still has the name engraved above the door. It is the largest department store in England and well known for its architectural design building.
When i first walked in to the House of Fraser i thought it was very dated, nothing about it was contemporary, the lay out of the shop, the interior they had chosen for the department, nothing screamed out! When i went upstairs to Kendals, that still was very dated, it may have something to do with the architecture being Art Deco? But even so i feel this refelected badly on what they had to offer furnishings and interior wise seen as everything today is contemporary and clean.
The staff were very friendly but i think lacked knowledge of the present fashions and designs out there. The whole department store felt trapped in a time warp.
